Andrew's got the answer here -- spanning a volume across drives
increases risk -- since if any drive fails, the entire volume is toast.

With RAID 5 this isn't an issue (though I'd not span a volume across
multiple RAID arrays).

I would simply add a new volume (call it DATA2 for example), then look
to copying all the data on DATA over to it as well, and then replace
DATA with DATA2 in log in scripts for drive mapping.
