Default "Client for XP" Connection Issues

Hello. I have three computers in a lab that are acting strange. Whenever they start up, the computers do not detect a network connection, resulting in having to log onto the local workstation. Whenever I get logged onto the local workstation, I can then right-click MyNetwork places and do a successful Novell Client logon from there. However, even before I do this, I can still access the internet, even though Im logged on to just the workstation. If I go ahead and log on from there, I can then log off and the client screen will come up normally, with a network connection. My problem might be a timing issue... my operating system is booting up so fast that it does not detect a network. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My client version is "Novell Client 4.91 SP3 for Windows".
