Interesting, the only problems I encountered were when using the
Microsoft client -- and I still have users running interesting DOS based
stuff at a prompt (though these days on Windows 2000 or XP). Heck, I
run Reflex 1.14 off a DOS prompt stored off of a NetWare server from an
XP workstation.

Another that *might* work is to configure 6.5 with IPX support and try
that.
