Well, technically "open" isn't the right term. If you allow the OS to
react in the expected way on a *closed* port (by actively resetting the
connection attempt), by disabling the firewall yes. Port 524 of coursle
still isn't open, but you allow the OS to actualyl tell the client that
it's not.
