Default flush DNS on Linux

After I changed DNS entry in DNS server and reload the DNS service, I am
still unable to ping the new DNS entry I put. The DNS server is OES 2
Linux server. I tried ./novell-named stop and ./novell-named start and I
was unable to ping the new entry. Then I tried ./novell-named restart
and I am still unable to ping the DNS entry either from the server
itself or workstation. From the workstation, I did "ipconfig /flushdns"
before I tried to ping the new DNS entry but it does not work.

I would appreciate it very much if someone can give me some suggestion
to try.

Thank you a bunch!
