Hello folks.
We've got an old MRP system that's on Netware 3.12 that we cannot get the data off of anything BUT this server. I'm trying to migrate it to VMWare. Here's where I'm at so far:
Did a bit by bit image. Worked fine, restored to the virtual hard drive and everything's up and running. SYS mounts, server runs... but nothing can see it. Nothing can talk to it. A bit of digging took me to
How To: install Novell Netware 3.x on VMware
Broken English aside, I deciphered that I would need to try to use the drivers the author recommended. I went through the process, reinstalled 312ptd and installed odi33g via install.nlm, and copied the drivers he recommended into c:\server.312.
Here's what happens, regardless of what options I try to specify (it's an IPX only network)
Loading Module PCNTNW.LAN
AMD PCNTNW
Version 4.1.4 June 26, 1998
Auto-loading module ETHERTSM.NLM
Novell ethernet Topology Specific Module
Version 3.80 March 1, 1999
Auto-loading module MSM31X.NLM
Novell Generic Media Support Module
Version 3.95 May 12, 1999
Auto-loading module NBI31X.NLM
Notice: Module name is NBI.nlm not NBI31X.nlm
Netware Bus Interface
Version 2.25 October 20, 1998
Supported Slot values are NONE
All supported options are ALREADY in use
Module initialization failed
Module PCNTNW.LAN NOT loaded
I'm at wits end here. I've tried loading the CNEAMD.LAN module but that gives me a ROM checksum BAD error and bombs out. Anyone got any ideas? I have ZERO experience or knowledge with Novell.
