I really like the Support Analysis tool but every time I run a analysis it says it is not subscribed to any subscription channels(Critical) yet we run a local SMT server and it is subscribed to that and does get all the updates from that. Is this a bug in the software because it is not subscribed directly to a Novell Server?

Sounds like one of the support patterns that checks for that condition is not making a proper match against your environment.
What you can do is enter a bug against this issue through the client by clicking the "bug" link in the upper right.
In the bug note the pattern that is returning the message and include your support config file. Then the author of that pattern can effectively evaluate and make the necessary changes to the pattern to correct any possible "mis-match".
