I know this is super-late but do you have GCC installed? You can't get
vmtools up and running without it. You'll need kernel source as well.
Both of those are easy to throw in via YAST. I'd also suggest that it's
best to avoid any kernel patches as it's easier to deal with stock
OES
kernels as vmtools needs matching headers, libraries, and whatnot. I'm
waiting for some more RAM to show up before trying
OES on our GSX box.
