Default can't login to iManager after SP1 update

after updating our OES box to SP1, and following all the instructions on
the "Updating OES Linmux via a Patch CD", I rebooted the server, then tried
to login to iManager. I can't login as myself or the admin user. I get an
error

(Error -601) The object name entered could not be found in the context
specified. Refer to Help for all listings of possible causes and solutions.

I tried logging in as user.context instead of just user and I get an error
717 (CRC error)...

I've reconfigured iManager via Yast with the same results.
maybe eDir got fried during the upgrade?

anyone ran into this?
