Default Can't create NSS pool on OES Linux SP1

I keep getting a write error when I try to create a NSS pool using NSSMU
on my OES Linux SP1 fresh install server. I have 215 GB free non
partitioned space. I choose that space and it sits for a minute or two
then comes back with a write error.

Am I doing something wrong? All our file and print services are on
NetWare. This is my first OES Linux SP1 server and I'd like to start
migrating all our file servers' data to OES Linux attached to our SAN. I
need to setup a 400 GB NSS cluster volume on our SAN, but just trying to
setup NSS on the local storage to test with. I get the same write error
if I try to setup NSS on the SAN free space too.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
Michael
