Thanks for you're response. This was the solution. I had not yet attached the nailsgroup to the unix workstation object of the server running LinuxShield. I had already given the nails user supervisor rights on the nss volume, but now I can access it to and I can install LinuxShield without creating a local nails user and group. It uses the edir nails and nailsgroup.
