1. Yes, I"m fairly sure it is. With that said, I've never configured it.
2. What are you trying to do? The 'mail' command as well as PHP-based
applications I have on SLES machines (on which
OES is built) already work
SMTP-wise when they are the sender without any additional configuration.
If you are trying to receive e-mail then that makes more sense and you
would need to do the typical things.... try to send e-mail to the box,
make sure it gets to the box and then gets to the correct user and is
readable. Knowing what you're trying to do will probably help a lot.
