Default novell-afptcpd not starting on reboot

This morning I rebooted two sles10sp2oes2sp1 servers both have afp set to start at boot, but neither started until I went in and typed "rcnovell-afptcpd start". They are now up and running.

I then looked through /var/log/messages, dmesg, /var/log/afptcpd/afptcpd.log and/var/opt/novell/log/afptcp.log. I could not find any record of afptcpd getting started during the boot process, nor could I find any entries for chkconfig.

server:~ # chkconfig -l novell-afptcpd
novell-afptcpd 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:off 5:on 6:off
erver:~ #

My question is: where should I be looking to find out if it tried to start and what if any errors were returned.

I double checked and logging for afp is turned on.
