Default Pure-ftp setting permissions on NSS volumes

I have an oes2 sp1 box with Novell FTP(pureftp) installed, am able to login via LUM enabled eDir accounts and get the proper directory set in their home directory properties for each user. These different paths are on an nss volume. When using FILEZILLA I am able to browse above those folders and have excessive rights.

How do I lock that down and enabled only READ rights to the specified folders?

I've set them as TRUSTEES to their folder but CONSOLEONE EFFECTIVE RIGHTS of those users still shows them as having FULL RIGHTS. Where is that inherited from ? How can I enable them to just have READ to the folder on nss.
