Failover DHCP server

Be aware that failover only applies to dynamically assigned IP addresses
- if you're handing out static assignments (ie. IP addresses assigned to
MAC addresses) then failover won't help you here.

I am trying to get DHCP failover working but your comment here gives me pause.
I have some static assignments in a few of my pools. How would this impact failover? Would failover not work with this config, or would the static assignments not work?
I would appreciate a little explanation.
