regarding the full qualified user in ldap notation ...

check if there is a ldap search base defined in the /etc/opt/novell/iprint/httpd/conf/iprint_ssl.conf that does not match the user you are using for login. When the server get's installed the container of the server get's added as the search base to the AuthLDAPDNURL. If you have the users in a different container, you need to adopt it or even remove it that the whole tree get's searched. That is what we have done. After a change, you need to restart apache to activate the new settings.
