AD Like DFS?

At oneof my previous places of work we were using a 2K3 AD network and we had DFS setup for all the shares so that we had common addressing of all network shares (example for those that haven't used DFS on 2K3, \\domain\share instead of \\servername\share). Most importantly it allowed us to replace a server, update the DFS config and then no one knew the difference, everything just work.

I've been playing with OES2's DFS and I can't see a way to duplicate this type of behaviour. From what I can see a junction must exist on a NSS share that would then have to be address from that server specifically.

Maybe I'm mis-understanding how DFS works, can someone fill me in :)
