When Novell says it's supported it just means that Novell didn't actually test anything with it and that they're relying on the product vendor to say "supported".

As we found out with Symantec/Veritas NetBackup. It's supported but it doesn't work with the majority of things because Symantec refuses to use the TSA at this point. So you can't reliably backup GroupWise, iFolder, or use Compression on NSS.

Although I don't know if EMC is the same way. You may have to open a call with EMC (I know, it's painful with them) to see what/how to do that.
