Netware Client preffered IP

On our network, Our Netware Servers are configured with 2 IP's each
(public and Private). It seems our Clients (xp with 4.91 sp2) will
connect to the server via either IP. It seems 50 / 50 wich one they
will connect to. They all have private addresses and when they connect
to the server through the public address, it has to go through the
router. We have old routers and the interfaces are at 10 half. Is there
s way on the client side to limit this connection to a certian server
IP. We are using SLP for resolution.
