Default Direct File Copy Backup

I am looking to perform a straight file copy backup over the network in
order to backup our Netware server (along with Groupwise). I haven't
really been around Novell Netware since 4.0, and it has been quite a few
years since that time, so I have forgotten pretty much everything I had
known about Novell and administration, etc.

We are currently using a TAPE drive to perform data backup, but we would
like to add an additional backup to hard drive across the network so that
we can just have that extra protection (we'll backup to a removeable
drive that we take off-site, etc).

What steps must I perform to ensure that I get all of the necessary
files, and shut down the necessary files prior to performing the file
copy? How do I restart these files upon copy completion.

Any direction or info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I will be more than happy to supply any necessary information which I
have omitted at this point. I didn't want to get too detailed on my
first post.

Thanks for reading through this, and I appreciate any info or comments
offered.

Stacy
