There is no way that a client-based backup can not trigger a decompress as it backs them up. That requires a server-based utility or at least backup client.
What you can do on the server is stop any kind of access from decompressing files; load monitor - server parameters - common file system, and set Convert Compressed to Uncompressed Option = 0.
