And I have already explained why. The only way around this is to have this
type of apps write to a dedicated folder where you set immediate purge on.

Also note that this space is not lost. Old files will purge automatically
after the "Minumum delete wait time" has passed.

Also, you might think of what files you need to back up. Doing full
backups of a WS HD to a server drive is a waste of space. I use an
external USB HD for that. For my important files I use iFolder so that
they will sync to the server whenever changed. An added bonus here is that
I do not have to be in the office. Since iFolder works over port 80, any
internet connection will do.
