We currently have in place a NW 6.5 SP6 cluster (6 nodes) they are attached to a SAN that holds the storage devices for Novell, UNIX, Linux and Windows. The services that are currently in place for Novell are iPrint, NSS Volumes, GroupWise, DNS DHCP, and NSS Volumes. Because of issues with our SAN (no longer being support on the NetWare OS) and with EOL of NetWare coming up 2010 our upgrade path is for moving these services onto SLES 10 SP2, OES 2 SP1 servers. These servers are going to be virtual boxes which will be running on an ESX hosts those servers will be running Novell Cluster services (if that is possible) and will be connecting to the SAN for the Data Volume, and for the fail over capability. We are currently still debating whether or not we will use clustering from Novell, or use ESX tools like Vmotion. Seeing what others have done in their environments.
Our upgrade path is upgrade GroupWise (7.0.x to version 8.x) upgrade file servers from NetWare to SLES 10, and moving those boxes from physical to virtual servers. We have heard about issue when dealing with NSS volumes and Virtualization and I was wondering if someone has had any experiences with this type of procedure and might be able to enlighten me as to tips and tricks that have worked. Or what the support upgrade procedures are? Thank you,

Hi There,
Sorry for replying after 6 months to this thread. I would like to know did you really go for VMware Virtualization and if yes what kind of difficulties did you face. I am also planning for the virtualisation and I am sure timesync issue is there with DS, High utilisation and memory issues are there with ZCM, but I faced problem related to Exchange 2007 cluster and the CPU frequency. I think you might faced the same issue with GW....................................
If possible please reply ASAP,............................................. ..................
Thanks & Regards,
