Default aptcpd crashing

For the last week afp has been consistently crashing such that I leave terminal open so I can restart the service. After turning on the debug and error logs this is what I see in /var/log/messages

From what I can tell perhaps is this a unicode issue with something in the staff directory? I am running the latest patches on this server. Any ideas or way to pinpoint the problem exactly?

Thanks for any help

Nathan
