Default SMP in NSM

OK, been forced to revisit this issue - I'm running into some performance
issues during certain times of the day with NSM6 on an HP ProLiant DL360
G4. Usually clamd pins the cpu at near 100% for a while (sometimes it's
squidf or hyperdyper, usally it's clamd) and browsing slows down (a LOT).
How can I get SMP working in NSM, since I can't use my licenses for Astaro?
The NSM install CD ignores the "SMP" boot option, so it installs the
uniprocessor kernel and I only see a single CPU.

Thanks again in advance,
