Default Passing credentials to the console.exe

I'm setting up the Novell Sentinel product to run in a SOC. We currently have various alerts coming into different screens. If the machine that is displaying on a screen gets rebooted, or shutdown, or etc., when it comes back up, I'd like it to automatically login to the console.

I was planning to add a script to the startup folder that basically called the exe and passed it credentials. This is a little unsecure however though as anyone with access to the machine can view the file. I'm having some trouble getting the parameters correct. I don't even know if it's possible. Has anyone attempted something like this?

My second thought would be to edit the configuration.xml file in some way to auto login. This is a much better method as users do not have permission to view files on the C:/ drive, so the credentials would be hidden. Has anyone ever done this before?

I will post whatever the final solution is here and submit it to the knowledge base as well.

Thanks,
