Linux and XP on the same box?

GW 6.5, NW 6.5. I want to use the GWAVA SMTP product which requires
Linux. I would also like to run it from an existing XP workstation
which has plenty of muscle and is used once in a blue moon. Is it
possible/feasible to install a second hard drive in the box, which will
be formatted with Linux, while also running the XP hard drive? In other
words, some way to utilize both configurations, presumably with two NICs?

If you have enough RAM in that machine you could do this using VirtualBox, VMWare Server or similar virtualization product. XP would still be the host and the Linux box a guest running within.
You'd not have need for an extra NIC.
