Likely your problem is tied to the problems with SP8 and the licensing
bugs
*it* had.

I don't know as I ever saw a good solution for your situation.
Ordinarily I
wouldn't advise this, but in your case I think it might be good to
apply SP9
and be sure to use NLS.

I think you may well be looking at a reinstall and then patching to
SP6a, so
if you're dependent on this server for internet connection go out on
the net
and find SP6a first and move it to a WS. If this is a typical 4.x
Small
Business install it has a lousy configuration anyway as it defaulted
to a
single volume (Sys:)

Go to the console and <load config> before you do anything else.

Print out the config.txt file so you have a copy of the autoexec.ncf
and
startup.ncf and your settings in case you need them. If you need
help to
do the install over again we'll be here.
