Default NWSB4.2

OK, I'd like some suggestions on this mess!

NWSB4.2 system with mirrored 80 gig drives. Primary drive starts failing
around end of July, but not discovered until now. Thus, only reliable
data is on failing primary drive.

Backups current? I wish!!!

Primary drive is losing FAT, unless cooled in the freezer (drive sounds
like a small chain saw). Disconnected secondary drive to avoid
possibility of mirror attempt. Managed to get critical data off of
primary drive.

Brought up secondary drive to drop recovered data onto it, and discovered
there is no SYSTEM directory!!?! Brought up primary drive, and no SYSTEM
directory either. Therefore, unable to run lots of necessary utilities,
primarily INSTALL.

Several attempts to bring up both drives in normal mirror failed. System
would boot to primary drive, but when SYS volume started to mount, it was
read off the secondary drive.

Current system status is: running on secondary mirrored drive only (out of
sync). Customer has purchased two new 160 gig drives. DS appears to be
alright (though I can't check it without dsrepair).

Goals:

1. Prep a new 160 gig drive with a very large DOS partition (forgot the
max available under DRDOS), and let Netware take the rest.

2. Formally break the mirror, then add the new drive to the system and
mirror it (understand that I've got to have INSTALL working to do this).

3. Break new mirror, remove old 80 gig drive, move new 160 gig drive into
primary, then configure and mirror new 160 gig drive as secondary.
*************
OK, I know this might be worthy of an incident versus a forum question,
but I thought I'd start here.

And, yes, yes, I'm going SLES, and I'll drag this old account of mine
along as well, both of us kicking and screaming. In the meantime, I'll
probably be able to get them to bite on Novell SBS 6.6, which should last
them for a while until they can go SLES.

Anyway, thanks for looking this over. Suggestions and comments are most
appreciated!

Ralph
