Let me start by saying I am a Novell transplant, and still getting up to
speed on all the ins and outs. We are running Novell SBS-6, File Server,
GroupWise, Border Manager, and Zenworks.
Indiana has chosen to abandon "Indiana (East)" time (basically EST all
year), and start observing Daylight Savings Time. Microsoft says that
depreciates Indiana East time, and everything should be moved to "Eastern
Time"
From the research I have done it looks like I will need to change the Time
Zones on the servers as follows:
1. Add the following to both server AUTOEXEC.NCF files
set Time Zone = EST5EDT
set Daylight Savings Time Offset = 1:00:00
set Start Of Daylight Savings Time = (APRIL SUNDAY FIRST 2:00:00 AM)
set End Of Daylight Savings Time = (OCTOBER SUNDAY LAST 2:00:00 AM)
2. Change the Time zone of the POA in Groupwise
3. Reboot the Servers.
4. Change Timezone for our M$ SQL Server
5. Change Timezones for all Workstations (probably through ZEN)
Is this all I need to do?
Are there any gotchas I need to look out for?
(I already am pretty sure this is going to wreak havoc on our GroupWise
Appointments, and have only been pointed to a GroupWise 5.x Appointment Time
Adjuster [TID-10081255]. I am a little afraid to try it. But that sad tail
is for another newsgroup.)
So other than this rather large gotcha, anything else?
Thanks in advance for any help!
