Default Difference between eval and registered updates

Is there a difference between sled updates with an evaluation code and one with a licensed code?
The reason is that if I install support for restricted formats without updating the system during install, everything works. If you run updates on a licensed system, toem and nautilus cannot read the dvd and report it as being a restricted format.
Yet on my test system I used for evaluation before buying a license has had all the eval updates and still runs fine.

The error given when you put a mm dvd in the drive is:

Cannot mount volume.
Unable to mount the volume 'THE_FIFTEEN_STREETS'.

Unable to mount THE_FIFTEEN_STREETS
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Kaffeine works fine though.
