Can't get online--Realtek RTL8101E and HP DV6500T

Hi,

I just installed SLED10SP1 on Monday, which is dual-booting with Vista on
an HP DV6500T.

Main problem: I can't get internet connectivity, because there seems to be
a bug with the NIC card. The result, no updates, patches, etc, so I have a
working install with 800X600 screen resolution and no internet.

Anyone faced this and figured out a fix?

Will welcome any advice.
