I've never tried doing it, but if I wanted to make a Linux entrainment centre then I wouldn't even consider using SLED as I imagine there'd be more mucking around with extra repos and stuff to get all the necessary packages than if you went with another distro that hasn't been packaged with an Enterprise environment specifically in mind. I'd start with openSUSE or Ubuntu then look at adding MythTV or XMBC. Or there's Mythbuntu.

Put "SLED media center" and "Ubuntu media center" in to Google and compare the results!
