On some systems, even with a pae enabled kernel, you're still not
going to get all of the ram because the chipset (or other component)
uses part of memory for its own purposes.

Occasionally, if running a pae kernel, there are options in the BIOS
that can help... YMMV.

(you have to remember that 32bit pae has NOT been a Windows thing...
except on their VERY highest end server product line... $15K or so, so
many mb vendors aren't going to care about helping out except possibly
on a server centric mb)

Best advice... try running 64bit if at all possible... but even then,
you might not see all of it. Again, it depends on the mb, the chipset
and other components which might need to use memory to make things work.
