Default pm-utils on SLED sp2

I recently upgraded to SLED sp2 and was wondering if any one was able to get pm-utils installed and running. We've been having many problems getting s2ram to work properly on our motherboard (D945gclf). A developer in my group was able to get pm-utils to work for gentoo just to see if s2ram was supported on this hardware. The company wants to to use SLED sp 1 or 2 (and there is no budging, this is a final decision), is there an easy port?

I was able to find a pm-utils rpm, which yast installed; However, when i run pm-suspend, the computer goes into suspend mode, waits a second or two and then comes out of suspend.

Ultimately, we would like the machine to come out of suspend when the user touches the touchscreen. But, this can wait, the highest priority is getting it to sleep properly with the least amount of power consumption.

Any ideas?
