SLES 10 - Emulex 10000dc not seeing LUNs on SAN
Ok, so I'm perplexed. Have Emulex Thor-X LightPulse 10000dc fibre channel cards on Dell PowerEdge 6850 servers. I have installed the SLES10 driver for the Emulex and drivers load, the cards come alive and and the status checks out, however they refuse to see the storage. Whenever you run 'multipath -v3 -d' it reports back nothing. Checking '/proc/partitions' shows nothing. We have confirmed that the SAN switch and fabric is set up correctly with WWN etc. Everything is zoned...the issue is on the box....
lsmod shows the drivers lpfc and lpfcdfc loaded.
dmesg does not report back anything ugly.
var/log/messages reports back a few interesting things:
"parted[3559] trap divide error rip:2b9a8eea7781 rsp:7fff1bd43610 error:0
kernel: parted[3561] trap divide error rip:2ad4bf1ae781 rsp:7fffeba3cfb0 error:0
kernel: parted[3563] trap divide error rip:2b57c1d6d781 rsp:7fffe8e7c3f0 error:0
kernel: parted[3565] trap divide error rip:2b080f968781 rsp:7fff9b282800 error:0
kernel: device-mapper: dm-multipath version 1.0.4 loaded
kernel: lpfcdfc: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag.
kernel: Emulex LightPulse FC SCSI IOCTL 2.1.6"
as well as:
"kernel: lpfc 0000:0f:02.0: 0:1303 Link Up Event x1 received Data: x1 xf7 x8 x1
kernel: lpfc 0000:15:06.0: 2:1303 Link Up Event x1 received Data: x1 xf7 x8 x1"
(the Link Up Event occurs when resetting the Emulex adapater...Emulex says
the 1303 is an error code but does not go into more details...curses)
lspci -vv shows the cards correctly.
multipathd is running.
Question...has anyone worked with SLES 10 on Dell boxes with Emulex cards? The YES Certified does not show the Emulex Thor-X 10000dc lightpulse being certified. Is there something screwy I'm missing?
Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can offer.
