Default SLES 10 SP1 or SP2? I'm not sure...

Okay, here goes...

I ran the online update script/selection (via YaST) from SLES 10 x86_64 SP1 to SP2. Everything seemed fine, until I rebooted.

When the system finished booting, BASH prints that it's SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 SP1. What???

Well, SPident insists it's SP2.

uname -r reports kernel version 2.6.16.54-0.2.5-smp (x86_64). I know SP2 uses 2.6.16.60. Something is obviously wrong with updates.

The other thing that I find odd is that Yast's online update shows nothing. I checked Yasts' sources, and there is a SP1 Online and SP2 Online update. I know there are valid updates because I receive info about them via email.

I've tried disabling some sources, enabling others, all to no avail. I've tried checking for updates via rug. Nothing. I've tried refreshing via rug. Nothing. Yes, zmd is running.

I've reran the customer registration stuff multiple times... from Yast and from rug. Nothing changes.

So I copied the CDs to the hard drive and tried to do a product update. It didn't do anything. But now when I run the online update and opt to see all packages, I could then see various SP2 updates (a kernel update, bind update, other stuff...).

I tried to install the SP2 kernel update. In a fraction of a second, it said it was done and insisted I needed to reboot. So I rebooted. Bash greets me with "SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 SP1". Nothing changed, other than an unnecessary reboot.

I know there have been reports of problems going from SP1 to SP2. I've read about some on this forum but they didn't seem to help.

I did check the zmd log and see a lot of this kind of stuff:

I'm not sure if this is an existing problem, or from me messing around, trying to fix things.

So I'm stuck. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Ideas?

(By the way, the box itself is rock solid. I'm not having stability problems. I'm just worried about security updates and bug fixes).

And by the way, any help is very appreciated. I'm ready to bang my head into a wall!
