dhcpv6 is still in flux. There is a pretty good implementation now,
but no, there was not a good dhcpv6 back in the sles9 days, there wasn't
even a good draft.

But SLES 9 DOES support IPv6.... and you can run neighbor adv
discoveries to get IPs just fine.

Still, dhcpv6 can be useful for pushing out other pieces of
inforamation, but if all you need it router and IP discovery, IPv6
has that built in as long as there is an advertiser on the network.

Please note that the dhcpv6 implementation in Windows 2008 was
done EARLY on in the draft protocol phases... which simply means,
like all things Microsoft, they're creating a "standard" that
is incompatible with any true standard.

There are certain things that are very IPv6 ready, and many more
things that are not. In the good ole USA, the issue is primarily
with the telco and service providers (they simply are not ready).

You CAN compile the ISC dhcpd yourself. The newer versions do
dhcpv6 quite well. You just have to run two dhcpd's if you want
to hand out info to both IPv4 and IPv6 clients.
