To simply mount an NFS export you just need to have rights to mount the
export (root on the system initially mounting, the "client" machine) but
at that point everything within is still controlled by regular file
permissions. If you do not have a user on the "client" machine that has
write rights per the file permissions on the NFS server then you will only
be able to read the data. Read up on NFS for more deatils; I doubt I can
recreate the documentation's explanations better than they can themselves.
