Default Can't purge, Volume not found message

We have a SLES 10 with OES2 box and I've been trying to purge the data volume, vol1 while logged in as a root equivalent (or close to it). However, I haven't been successful.

So far, I've tried the following:

1) While logged in as myself, typed sudo /sbin/ncpcon purge volume vol1
2) While logged in as myself, typed sudo /sbin/ncpcon purge volume Vol1
3) While logged in as myself, typed sudo /sbin/ncpcon purge volume VOL1
4) While logged in as myself, typed sudo /sbin/ncpcon, then type purge volume vol1.
5) While logged in as myself, typed sudo /sbin/ncpcon, then type purge volume Vol1.
6) While logged in as myself, typed sudo /sbin/ncpcon, then type purge volume VOL1.

So far all attempts have been unsuccessful as I get a message after it says ... Executing "purge volume vol1", Volume vol1 (or Vol1 or VOL1) not found.

Then when I do the following:

1) While logged in as myself, typed sudo /sbin/ncpcon
2) At the : prompt, typed volumes

I get the message " 2 error getting volume information"

So, I'm wondering if TID 7000486 applies..

Thx in advance.

I thought perhaps it's a Search path issue but doesn't appear to be the case. Any help would be appreciated.
