Default Problem with a scsi tape drive in SLES 10 SP2

HI,

I just built a new SuSE 10 SP2 server for a test ride. It is running oracle and all required apps quite nicely EXCEPT, I have a scsi card in a PCI slot, that has one device, on older HP single tape drive hanging on it--properly terminated, and recently (yesterday) working as well on Vista as a our buds at MS support tape drives in Vista.

It was there and on when the system was built, but there are no device files, and there is no scsi device pick in YAST2. Anyone else had this issue? The device is mature enough that I would have thought it easily recognized.

Any suggestions on what to try?

Rick
