Slow/Sluggish Performance on a Dell Poweredge 2550
I have a couple of Dell Poweredge 2550 servers that I have SLES 10 SP1 on that I'm in the process of upgrading to SP2.
I've noticed on the 2550, both systems that were a fresh install and an upgrade to SP2, they are very sluggish when doing any kind of work.
I don't get this behavior on any of the SP1 servers.
By sluggish, the best way I can describe is that it appears that SP2 has an issue accessing the drives/controller.
I enter a command, say an ls, and it might take a few seconds or longer for the command to come back.
I have two identical servers, they only difference is that one is running SP1 and the other SP2.
On the server that is running SP2 it is averaging about 5 to 10% IO wait. The SP1 server isn't. Any ideas/suggestions what I can do to try to see what the problem is
