Default aacraid driver and Dell PERC 3/Di Raid Controller

I have a handful of various Dell PowerEdge Models that all have the Adaptec 3/Di Raid Controller.

I have verified that I have the latest firmware installed on all the servers.

I had no problems with the servers running under SLES 10 SP1.

I can't say the same with SP2. The aacraid driver was updated from 1.1-5[2409]-mh2 to 1.1-5[2449]-suse.

Going to SP2 causes the servers to run very slow. The servers are running with very high i/o wait times. Even when doing nothing.

Entering commands has a delay of minutes.

According to the documenation for the aacraid driver under SP2:

The aacraid driver adds support for Adaptec (Adaptec - Simplify your external storage deployment and easily upgrade to higher levels of capacity. Adaptec offers Storage Components & Software, Direct-Attached Storage (DAS), and Networked Storage & Solutions including SCSI, RAID, Serial ATA, Seri)
RAID controllers. This is a major rewrite from the original
Adaptec supplied driver. It has signficantly cleaned up both the code
and the running binary size (the module is less than half the size of
the original).

Supported Cards/Chipsets

1028:0002:1028:0002 Dell PERC 3/Di (Opal)

I don't have any errors being reported accessing the drives.
I''m getting the behavior wether I'm using RAID 1 or 5.
