Video killed the radio star
SLES SP2 / OES2
Our older video monitor died, so I replaced it with a Gateway FPD1530 LCD monitor. The system boots fine up to the boot menu, but when I select 'boot from hard disk' the monitor goes black with the status message "Input signal out of range", and is never heard from thereafter.
I booted from the installation CD and it *does* detect the monitor model correctly. I selected 'update', but upon re-boot nothing changed. I cannot get console video.
How does one change/update a monitor driver? Or tell Linux to use the same video mode that the boot menu is using (60Hz 800x600)?
Thanks,
Don
