Default SP2: QLogic FC NPIV driver

Hi all,

we're running two SLES10SP2 servers as Xen servers, connected to a SAN box via 4Gbps Fiber Channel (QLogic QLE2462).

Since we experience severe performance problems under high FS change rates (looks like a free list starvation in the FS driver), we would like to change to using NPIV-based disks for the Xen guests. (Our iSCSI tests we extremly promising, albeit we have only 1Gbps Ethernet but 4Gbps FC...)

Unfortunately, the SP2 driver seems to lack the NPIV support and QLogic up to now only has a SP1 driver availabe.

Are there any others out there going the same path, probably with hands-on experience recompiling the SP1 driver (Qlogic has included a SRPM in their package) and using it on SP2? Does anyone even have a certified SP2 driver ;-)?

If no driver is available yet, maybe Novell could "convince" QLogic development to work on it :-)

With regards

Jens
