NCC suse_register problem after SLES 11 update

Hi,

We've just updated an x86_64 SLES 10.2 box to 11.

We have an update/repo config problem.

The update went through very quickly and appeared to be complete. However, when sending information via NCC to register and get the repo configuration, we cannot get further than the splash window saying contacting server - which after a short while disappears. Clicking next again simply flashes up another small window which disappears too quickly to get the message. Leaving it for an extended period does not help.
I think there is an underlying problem: suse_update returns the following error whatever flags are passed:-

Code point \u0018 is not a valid character in XML at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/SUSE/SRPrivate.pm line 881

Anyone have any ideas?
