Default Building SLES10.2 on HP G6 hardware

Has anyone built a newer HP G6 box with SLES10.2? We've been trying to build 3 of them and it freezes all over the place - during partition format, during file copy, during the fsck check at boot time, during our postbuild process, etc. Just wondering if there's some incompatibility between what comes in SLES10.2 driver-wise and the G6 hardware. We had built 2 G6 boxes previously without issues, but it looks like it might have older firmware on it, so maybe this newer stuff just doesn't work right with SLES10. It's all the same basic hardware, which is why it's so frustrating as to why some boxes built fine and these new ones don't. I don't want to try to use SLES11 since this is for a lab/perf environment to mirror what we have in production and I want to keep the OS level the same.
