Default Re: Two NICs, multihoming - same subnet

I just came across another thread that has that same link to lartc.org and apparently they got it to work :

I have to thank Ray for his remarks and link to the right document.
Yesterday I've tested the config and implemented the solution based on
split access as described in Linux Advanced Routing & Traffic Control HOWTO.

Important are the Warning notes, made by Rod Roark, if you are using
multiple interfaces in the same subnet.
But then it works!!
So far I couldn't make much out of those comments ( both of my NICs are on the same subnet and I only have one ISP with only one gateway ) so it still doesn't work for me. I am just a bit surprised that to get such a pretty standard ( at least the way I see it ) setup to work ( two NICs on the same subnet, forget bonding ) on an Suse ENTERPRISE Linux we have to look things up on .ORG sites and rely on someone's comments rather than an article in the documentation describing a basic scenario ( unless I have somehow missed one ).

It looks like I'll be doing a lot of reading of 'man ip' .. good thing is I am using OpenSUSE at home. Meanwhile if anyone has any ideas about setting up split access routing for two ( or more ) NICs on the same subnet please feel free ..
