NFS, rpc.mountd, SLES 11 problems

Michael,

is it possible that you have a security software like apparmor activated ?
When you start the nfsserver and wait that 90 seconds till you get the error, does "dmesg" at the end report any additional information ?

apparmor isn't even installed.

xx049:~ # rpm -qa | grep apparmor
xx049:~ #

and no message shows up in dmesg after the error-message.
