Thanks, I've squirreled that away for next time I get simiar symptoms.

Unfortunately by the time your response was received all four of the
OES2 boxes in that tree had been rebuilt as plain SLES10sp2. New
systems, new rug bugs:

Anyone game to explain this one below, nothing omitted, nothing added,
copy'n'paste straight from the terminal:

zcmdev01:~ # rug --quiet up -y -t patch --skip-interactive

I would have thought that any patch that asks a question would classify
as an interactive patch, that "-y" would answer YES and that --quiet
would be quiet like it says in the fine man page! I entered the "N" as
I had no idea what rug was about to do.

Re-running without the --quiet:

zcmdev01:~ # rug up -y -t patch --skip-interactive
